BMW | 50 Years in Lower Bavaria

50 years of BMW in Lower Bavaria – big celebration at the BMW Group Werk Landshut.

It was the biggest celebration in the history of the location: more than 30,000 people accepted the invitation of the BMW Groupd Werk Landshut and arrived at the plant premises on the occasion of its 50-year anniversary. With this event, BMW in Landshut opened its doors to the public for the first time in ten years on a large scale and offered its visitors an appealing festivity and supporting programme.
Enjoying pleasant temperatures, numerous visitors streamed onto the open areas and into the halls with the various production technologies. The entire plant premises were full of things to discover and experience: on the anniversary plaza, visitors could embark on a journey through time and get to know the history of BMW Group’s Landshut location. There were tours through the halls with technologies offering exciting insights into production, and live shows and hands-on activities. Stunt driver Matte Griffin, among others, showed daredevil feats on his motorbike, DTM champion Marco Wittmann thrilled his passengers in the DTM Safety Car and several young visitors tested their driving skills in a special children’s course – where they also acquired a driving licence.
The four “Vision NEXT 100” vehicles experienced a real rush – BMW Group designed them the previous year for every brand on the occasion of the company’s 100-year anniversary. For the first time ever, these vision vehicles were presented to the general public outside Munich and metropolises such as Peking, London or Los Angeles. The BMW Group Classic exhibition, the offers for professional training or the thematic exhibitions on lightweight design and electric mobility also attracted a lot of visitors.
Three beer gardens, which had been set up specially for the event and offered regional specialities, and 15 food trucks with international cuisine provided more than sufficient food and drinks. An extensive musical programme with ten bands on two stages playing everything from brass band music to rock, from samba to swing provided entertainment on the entire premises.
The official speech by cabaret artist Django Asül and the performance by Hannes Ringlstetter and Band were both atmospheric highlight and dignified end of the event. The latter concluded the anniversary celebration – in accordance with the occasion – with his legendary anthem “Lower Bavaria”.
We would like to say thank you for the confidence in us and are looking forward to our future cooperation.
