3 days, 36 winners from 22 countries, 100 guests, 36 branded BMW 7 shuttles, 13 BMW old-timers, 1 Setra bus and 15 BMW DriveNow vehicles. These are only a few details of BMW Excellence in Sales from 27th to 29th March in Munich. Why all the effort? For the 36 most successful BMW distributors in the world!
In the context of the Excellence in Sales competition in 2016, the 6 most successful distributors in 6 categories each were determined; first at national, then at regional level. Then they were invited to Munich to take part in the award ceremony with supporting programme. During the highlight of the 3-day event, the award ceremony, the global winner per category was presented. The guests were looking forward to 3 days full of highlights, BMW brand experiences and emotions. A BMW old-timer tour in the sunshine and an exclusive champagne reception at the Nymphenburger Schloss constituted the prelude of the event. The tour ended at the BMW Pavillon at Lenbachplatz, where the welcome evening took place in a relaxed atmosphere.
On the following day, the guests set off on a trend journey through the city and were inspired by new and innovative retail models and young Munich start-ups. The day was introduced by a keynote speech by the trend research institute TRENDONE.
The heart of the event, the award ceremony, took place at the BMW Group Classic. In addition to an impressive and inspiring speech by board member of the BMW Group and patron of Excellence in Sales, Dr. Ian Robertson (HonDSc), the finalists and winners in 6 categories were honoured. Apart from a top-class set menu, a classy ambience and décor, a stage performance with 2 cello players and a dance that had been choreographed specially for the event, an excellent dinner band created an unforgettable atmosphere. Finalists and winners were able to celebrate their victory appropriately at the aftershow party with DJ.
The close of the 3-day event was constituted by another highlight, a Luxury Brand Insight Workshop in the BMW World with a final lunch at the restaurant Bavarie. Afterwards, the guests started their journeys home, full of happy memories. As one of the winners put it spot on: “Thank you so much for the fantastic event. It was a really unique experience, perfectly organised. THANKS!”
